AKA Wins Best Extended Stay at 2017 Serviced Apartment Awards
The Serviced Apartment Awards are the only awards created for and by the serviced apartment, aparthotel, extended stay and short term rental industry. The glittering awards ceremony for 2017 took place on Monday 20th March at London's five-star Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, attended by more than 350 industry professionals, corporate buyers and suppliers. The awards recognized excellence at individual, team and corporate level. The ceremony was hosted by TV presenter Georgina Burnett, with a special appearance by award-winning broadcaster, Mark Dolan.

AKA President Larry Korman was proud to attend the annual 2017 Hospitality Design Expo & Conference. Hospitality Design Expo, the premier show for interior designers, architects, purchasing agents, owners, operators, brand executives, and other hospitality design professionals was held at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Recognized by the Hospitality Design Expo as one of the four most interesting and creative brands in the industry, Larry Korman and fellow panelists were invited to discuss the brand individuality, goals, and place in the evolving hospitality landscape, as well as offer insight and expert analysis.

AKA sponsors the 15th annual Tribeca Film Festival, co-founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff. This year's Festival included 102 features, 74 short films, and 38 immersive storytelling projects from 42 countries.
The winner of the Best Documentary Short: Extremis directed by Dan Krauss received $5,000 sponsored by AKA Hotel Residences. The award was given by Larry Korman, President, AKA Hotel Residences along with Maria Cuomo Cole.
The jurors for the 2016 U.S. Narrative Competition, also sponsored by AKA Hotel Residences, were Anne Carey, James Le Gros, Chris Nashawaty, Mya Taylor, and Jennifer Westfeldt.
The mission of the festival is "to enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film by redefining the film festival experience." The Tribeca Film Festival was founded to celebrate New York City as a major filmmaking center and to contribute to the long-term recovery of lower Manhattan.
