Volunteer Spotlight: AKA Rittenhouse Square!
For the third consecutive year, MANNA welcomed the team from AKA Rittenhouse Square for the afternoon volunteer shift. Evan O'Donnell, General Manager of AKA along with five team members came to MANNA to scoop soup, bake cookies and package meals. AKA, the innovative and growing collection of luxury extended-stay properties, is offering guests, and internal team members, the opportunity to give back to those in need with the launch of AKA Give It.
Initiated at AKA Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, the volun-tourism program partners with local non-profit organizations like MANNA. AKA Give It! was created in response to the magnanimous, volunteering spirit of Steven Korman, CEO of Korman Communities. A long time MANNA supporter, Korman joined efforts with MANNA and through his subsequent generosity the organization unveiled The Steven Korman Nutrition Center in 2008; this center allows MANNA to expand its reach and care to more than 800 people with three meals per day, serving the local community almost one million meals each year. Thank you, Steven Korman and the staff and guests of AKA Rittenhouse, for your help and generous donation of time.
