AKA Times Square is thrilled to partner with renowned international designer and architect Piero Lissoni of Milan, Italy, and his U.S. design firm, BY Lissoni, on their first New York project. Opening Winter 2013, our new bi-level penthouse lounge includes an Italian coffee bar; a floating circular rooftop bar; a two-tiered outdoor terrace with a direct view of the New Year’s Eve crystal ball; relaxed seating areas; and an enhanced fitness center. AKA residents will be able to enjoy the pulse of Times Square from the comfort of twenty stories above.
In the meantime, a.lounge, currently located in two New York City AKA locations, Central Park and Sutton Place, is an intimate gathering place reserved exclusively for all AKA residents and their guests. Each features a relaxing yet of-the-moment ambiance, numerous cozy seating areas, quiet nooks, and spectacular architectural fireplaces. At Sutton Place a tranquil indoor garden with a mesmerizing water feature completes the sense that AKA is far removed from the bustling city.
Experienced mixologists serve contemporary cocktails, expertly shaken or stirred martinis, and a carefully curated selection of natural wines, micro-brew beers, and artisan spirits. The house specialty is a.vod crafted exclusively for the lounge by Marko Karakasevic, a 13th generation master distiller, at Charbay recently honored by Food & Wine Magazine as Vodka of the Year and by Spirit Journal as the #1 Vodka in the World. Each lounge is accessible from the lobby and is open from 5:00 p.m. until late night seven days a week.
