Sometimes also referred to as “Emancipation Day” or “Jubilee Day,” Juneteenth is observed every year on June 19th — the anniversary of President Lincoln’s signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared the end of slavery in America. This landmark day of freedom will be observed with a march and events throughout the city.
