The spatial concept for the Hotel AKA Brickell is conceived as an intricate portrait of the world of AKA, a new experience for short-term and extended stay guests. This location and brand narrative is conceived as a coastal retreat and an elevated home away from home tailored for business and leisure travelers alike.
This coastal hospitality oasis personifies the intrinsic qualities of relaxed elegance, playful simplicity, and performance-driven modernity. In this sense, the spatial environment manifests itself as a harmonious frame to focus and highlight the character, personality, and culture of the hotel as it moves through time. The design concept enhances and imagines the panoramic views as a cinematic backdrop to the daily activities of the hotel from daytime to nighttime.
The lighting concept harnesses natural daylight throughout the day into the night. And the interior illumination will provide an ever-changing sensory dimension to the atmosphere of the spaces. The restaurant is envisioned as a ‘Nautical Palm Court’ with tall and lush tropical plants, and will feel airy and light. To complement the overall design vision, we worked with a light and refined material palette with distinct textures and patterns. The palette comprises authentic and artisanal materials that combine complimentary opposites.
As this dynamic and alluring narrative personifies the AKA clientele, the space, through its revealing nature, embodies the spirit of this unique and sophisticated hospitality environment. It is a stage and a window to the world of AKA. It is a place where dreams are made.
