Senior Construction Accountant

AKA Hotels + Hotel Residences is recruiting a Senior Construction Accountant to join our ever growing portfolio. The Senior Construction Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting of all construction projects initiated by the AKA brand of Korman Communities. This Team Member will work closely with the VP of Finance, Directors of Finance, EVP’s and Project Managers to effectively oversee all financial aspects of ongoing construction.

Team Member Requirements:
- Collaborate with senior and project management to prepare and monitor annual budgets
- Lead monthly construction budget variance review meetings
- Enter contracts, change orders, and budget information into Yardi
- Process invoices for hard and soft costs into Yardi
- Perform monthly reconciliations of various job cost reports
- Review AIA contracts and billings
- Maintain and manage ST8 Form compliance
- Oversee and coordinate lender draw requirements and project funding
- Manage lien waivers, ensuring all invoices/payments that require lien waivers are complete
- Ensure the collection of a Certificate of Insurance from vendors
- Reconcile retainage in Yardi against actual invoices
- Handle communication with vendors and contractors
- Reforecast cash flows
- Prepare schedules and analyses to support financial statements for tax consultants and external auditors
- Possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and manage time efficiently and effectively
- Possess high attention to detail and accuracy as well as strong analytical skills
- Ability to develop goals, establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Technical Functions:
- Yardi Voyager
- Treasury websites (i.e. Capital One Intellix)
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting
- 5+ years of construction or similarly related accounting experience
- Yardi Voyager experience is a plus
- Must be a self-starter with analytical and quantitative skills
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work independently as well as with other Team Members
